Our Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) team were invited to tour Eden Park to observe the sustainability practices put in place for the hosting of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The ESD team were very impressed with the practices implemented that were designed to both help minimise their environmental impact and give back to the community. From hot composing, creating biodiversity-promoting gardens, to world-class rainwater harvesting and reuse systems, Eden Park has done it all to spark change in the sporting and entertainment industry.
The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup was the first Women’s World Cup to be hosted entirely by a green-building certified stadia. We are excited to see these sustainability regulations put in place for large sporting competitions and to be a part of a sustainable engineering future.
