A Sustainable Future for Construction

Wednesday September 13th, 11.30am – 1.00pm

How will changes to the Building Act & Building Consent affect me? What do I need to know?

Legislation and building practices are changing fast to meet global decarbonization targets. These changes profoundly affect how we will design and construct buildings. It’s critical to understand what’s coming and what tools and expertise will be needed.

22 Degrees in conjunction with the New Zealand Green Building Council invites clients and friends to learn about the changes and how our industry must adapt.

Bobby Shen M.Arch prof (Hons) from NZGBC and John Gillespie MSc Sustainable Energy Engineering (Hons), our Ireland trained ESD Team Leader will explain what you need to know and how to prepare so you can give your clients clarity.

Our seminar will cover:
Legislative & Consent Changes 2024 & 2025
Embodied Carbon Reporting – all you need to know
Industry Impact – what will change?
Case Studies
Tools: Greenstar, Homestar, NABERSNZ, Assessments, Analysis, Reports

John worked in energy engineering and sustainable solutions in the UK, Europe, South America & Middle East before taking up a role to grow the 22 Degrees ESD team and services. “The UK & Ireland is further down the track but they have laid the groundwork and we’re catching up fast,” he says. Bobby completed his architecture degree at the University of Auckland, has been a Green Star accredited professional since 2015 and is an assessor for a sustainability course at the University of Cambridge (UK).
