Despite the frequent rain, the team at 22 Degrees had a fantastic holiday break filled with much-needed R & R and family time. We’re looking forward to making the most of this new year and delivering exceptional results for our clients.
Bonding and energising was the name of the game as the team enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Bella Rakha Retreat Centre, competing in our own frisbee golf tournament. Local Frisbee Golf Guru, Simon Feasey provided coaching and tips and we all did our best to land those frisbees in the baskets. We had so much fun we didn’t even find out which team won!
We would like to say a big thank you to Simon and Yvette who own Bella Rakha for their fabulous hospitality. It’s a beautiful setting for any team to unwind and have some fun.
Speaking of fun… a recent purchase has us sizzling with joy, we got a brand-new BBQ! Look out for an invitation to join us for a hot sausage and beverage at the office.
Nominees and the winner of our 2022 Company “Good Value” award enjoyed an outing to Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and dinner at White and Wong’s. Our awards recognise the outstanding contribution from our team who were so busy being good value team members they didn’t book their night out till the New Year. They had a blast.
Project Spotlight: Freemans Bay Primary
We are happy to announce the stage 2 completion of the Freemans Bay Primary School, located in the leafy inner city suburb of Freemans Bay, Auckland. The site, situated along Wellington and Hepburn Streets is close to Ponsonby and the CBD.
This award-winning redevelopment of this Auckland school involved the demolition and relocation of several existing buildings and the construction of four new blocks. The school was designed to create a fresh new modern learning environment incorporating a variety of connected open plan spaces and new technologies. 22 Degrees designed the building services for both stages and worked closely with architect’s RTA Studio.
Pause for a Cause : Kiwicare
Each year staff are asked to nominate a charity and 22 Degrees gives them a day off to donate their time. Many of our staff support the regeneration of local kiwis by spending a day in the bush. Kiwi Care Day, is organised in conjunction with Thames Coast Kiwi Care and sees a team from 22 Degrees head down the coast to go bush for the day. Aimed at promoting environmental awareness, preserving the beauty of the Thames region and supporting growth of kiwi numbers this day-long event features tree-planting, trap clearing/baiting and trail clean up. Many local volunteers help with this important work and we’re proud to join them and the fight to eradicate invasive species and save the Coromandel Kiwi population. We are planning our next day in March so will update you with pictures of our efforts.
