Winter Internship Paid Programme

22 Degrees’ paid internship programme offers a unique introduction to consulting engineering. Targeted at students interested in the built environment and ideally in their final year of study, the internship runs in the inter-semester break.

Programme

The paid programme is held in our Ponsonby office four days a week for three weeks. This will provide approximately 100 engineering experience hours per intern within this period.

Contents will include:

  • Introduction to building services
  • Introduction to sustainable design, reporting & safety in design
  • Site visits to construction site/s
  • Introduction to Ventilation & Building Energy Systems (mechanical focus)
  • Introduction to Power, Security & Lighting Systems (electrical focus)
  • Introduction to 3D modelling and BIM.
  • Hands-on project work

Selection Criteria

Suitable studies include engineering (particularly mechanical & electrical), construction, architectural engineering, and mechatronics. Students should ideally be in the final or penultimate year of their degree.
