About Northcross Intermediate

This education project involved the upgrading of nine single-cell classrooms into modern, open-space learning environments. The outdoor courtyards were also transformed into covered outdoor learning spaces, linking the classrooms and providing year-round usability.

The design features a modern industrial aesthetic with exposed cable trays, black steel frames, minimal joinery, and extensive glass, creating a flexible and practical environment. Large windows and glazed doors visually connect the corridors to the teaching spaces, while a timber batten ceiling links indoor and outdoor walkways. The project also included a hearing loop, courtyard lighting, and Wi-Fi for school performances.
